Respite care

A short stay at Wimbledon Villa — for residents recovering from hospital, or for family carers who need a break with peace of mind.

Respite residents are full residents during their stay. They have the same room comforts, the same meals, the same activities, the same access to the gardens. The only difference is the length of the visit.

A needs assessment is still required for respite care — arranged through Support Links, in the same way as a permanent admission. We're happy to walk you through it.

Respite is often the best way to find out whether Wimbledon Villa feels right, before a longer-term decision. Many of our permanent residents started this way.

Good to know

  • Same standard of care as full-time residents
  • Needs assessment required (via Support Links)
  • Often used by family carers needing a break
  • Sometimes used after a hospital discharge
  • Can be a gentle introduction to permanent care
